Juan

Colombian pianist Juan Avendano has his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy, a Master of Music in Piano Performance and currently furthering his artistry at the University of Oregon, where he's working under the guidance of Alexandre Dossin towards a doctorate in piano performance and a master’s in collaborative piano.

Juan has been awarded in prestigious competitions like the Jaqueline Avent Concerto Competition, Cali Philarmonic Concerto Competition and the Young Artist Competition from Banco de la Republica de Colombia. 

Juan has demonstrated his prowess as a chamber performer by participating in numerous orchestras and ensembles, such as the Rogue Valley Symphony, Orchestra Next, and Southwest Michigan Orchestra. His collaborative spirit shines through at renowned music festivals, including the Ad Astra Music Festival, Bowdoin International Festival, and Gilmore International Piano Festival.

With an unwavering commitment to his craft, Juan Avendano continues to pursue excellence in both piano performance and pedagogy.  We are thrilled to have his passion for music education and piano benefit the students of the studio!
